Privacy Policy

Straight talk about data, tracking, AI, and seller workflows.

SpareDollar handles practical seller data: account info, product photos, listing fields, marketplace connections, billing, usage logs, and affiliate attribution. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and how to reach us.

Effective May 6, 2026Last updated June 10, 2026
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers. We do use service providers to run the product, including hosting, database, email, payments, affiliate attribution, AI and model processing, and marketplace integrations.

Sources of data

  • You provide data directly when you create an account, upload files, connect marketplaces, join a waitlist, subscribe, or contact support.
  • We generate data as you use the product, such as usage logs, credit holds, publish results, import status, and error events.
  • Marketplaces and third-party providers may return account, listing, billing, or event data needed for connected features.
  • The SpareDollar Marketplace Connector may collect supported marketplace session, page, listing, and status data from your own Chrome browser after you install the extension and use an extension-backed workflow.
  • When you arrive through an affiliate link or vanity URL, our own first-party tracking sets the attribution values described below. Affiliate attribution is operated by SpareDollar, not a third-party affiliate network.
4

How we use data

  • Operate the app, Rescue, marketplace integrations, billing, and affiliate attribution.
  • Generate listings, process images, import/export data, publish items, and maintain seller workflows.
  • Run browser-session marketplace actions through the SpareDollar Marketplace Connector when you ask us to connect, import, list, update, delist, prepare drafts, or sync status for supported marketplaces.
  • Secure accounts, detect abuse, prevent fraud, enforce limits, and investigate incidents.
  • Provide support, debug errors, improve reliability, and prioritize product development.
  • Send transactional emails, product updates, billing notices, security notices, and requested support responses.
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, marketplace, payment processor, and dispute obligations.
5

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for sign-in, session security, preferences, product functionality, affiliate/referral attribution, and debugging.

  • Essential cookies: sign-in, security, CSRF protection, session continuity.
  • Preference storage: interface settings, language or theme preferences where applicable.
  • Affiliate/referral cookies: a first-party cookie named sd_ref set when you click an affiliate link or vanity URL. It stores an opaque referral identifier (not your identity), lasts 60 days, and uses last-touch attribution so the right affiliate can receive credit if you become a customer.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics measures page visits and product usage in aggregate. Microsoft Clarity records anonymized session replays and heatmaps (with on-screen text and form inputs masked) to help us understand and improve usability. Intercom sets cookies to run the in-app support messenger and connect your support conversations.
  • Marketplace session cookies: when you use the SpareDollar Marketplace Connector, the extension may read supported marketplace cookies and related browser storage from your Chrome session so SpareDollar can complete actions you request without asking for your marketplace password.
  • Analytics/logging: request and error logs through hosting and infrastructure providers. We use this to understand reliability and abuse, not to sell personal profiles.

You can block cookies in your browser, but sign-in, checkout, affiliate attribution, and some product features may stop working correctly.

Browser extension and marketplace sessions

The SpareDollar Marketplace Connector is a Chrome extension used for marketplaces where a direct API connection is not available or not sufficient for the seller workflow. It is not required for every SpareDollar feature. eBay and Shopify can connect directly; browser-session marketplaces may require the extension.

The extension may run on SpareDollar pages and supported marketplace pages, including Poshmark, Depop, Vinted, Mercari, and Facebook Marketplace. Depending on the action you start, it may read or transmit marketplace cookies, session tokens, local storage, session storage, tab URLs, listing forms, product/listing data, inventory pages, order/status pages, page content needed to identify your listings, and the listing data you ask SpareDollar to send to a marketplace.

We use this extension data only to provide and support the marketplace actions you request, such as connecting an account, importing listings, preparing a marketplace draft, publishing, updating, delisting, syncing listing status, syncing inventory, or troubleshooting a failed action. We do not use extension data to build unrelated advertising profiles, and we do not sell extension data.

  • No marketplace passwords: SpareDollar does not ask for or store your marketplace password through the extension. You sign in directly on the marketplace site.
  • Session data: marketplace cookies and session tokens may be sent to SpareDollar and stored encrypted so user-requested workflows can continue after you connect an account.
  • Temporary extension storage: Chrome local storage may hold temporary connector state, pending action queues, draft context, or sync status needed to complete marketplace workflows.
  • Limited purpose: our use of data received through the extension is limited to the extension's disclosed SpareDollar marketplace functionality and support of that functionality.
  • Chrome Web Store policy: our use of information received through the SpareDollar Marketplace Connector is intended to comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect a marketplace in SpareDollar settings, uninstall the extension from Chrome, remove its site access, clear marketplace cookies in your browser, or contact us for help removing saved marketplace session data.

7

Service providers

We use third-party providers to run the business. They process data only as needed to provide services to us, subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

  • Vercel: hosting, edge delivery, deployment, request logs, and Vercel Blob file storage.
  • Neon/PostgreSQL: database hosting.
  • Google/Chrome Web Store: distribution, extension listing, review, and user installation of the SpareDollar Marketplace Connector.
  • Google Analytics: aggregate site and product usage analytics.
  • Stripe: checkout, subscriptions, invoices, taxes, payment processing, billing portal, and Stripe Connect for affiliate payouts (including identity, bank/card, and tax-information collection on Stripe-hosted onboarding pages).
  • PayPal: affiliate payouts for affiliates paid by PayPal.
  • Resend or email providers: transactional and support email.
  • Intercom: in-app support messenger and support conversation history.
  • Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI: AI-assisted listing generation, photo analysis, categorization, and related product features. Listing photos and listing text you submit to AI features are processed by these providers.
  • Cloudflare R2 and other cloud/object storage providers: uploaded images, CSV files, exports, archived assets, and generated files.
  • Marketplace providers: eBay, Poshmark, Depop, Shopify, and other connected platforms, when you connect or use those integrations.
8

AI processing

When you use AI features, product data, photos, listing fields, or prompts derived from them may be sent to AI/model providers — currently Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI — so they can produce the requested output. We try to send only what is needed for the feature. Do not upload sensitive personal data, confidential client data, health data, financial account details, government IDs, or anything you are not authorized to process.

AI outputs and logs may be retained for debugging, abuse prevention, billing, and quality improvement unless a provider-specific setting or legal requirement says otherwise.

9

Sharing and disclosure

We may share data:

  • With service providers listed above so they can provide hosting, payments, email, AI, storage, affiliate attribution, and marketplace functionality.
  • With marketplaces or connected platforms when you ask us to import, export, sync, publish, or manage listings.
  • With payment processors and tax/accounting systems for billing, invoices, disputes, fraud prevention, and legal records.
  • With affiliates only in limited attribution form, such as aggregate stats or commission events. Affiliates do not receive your private listing data, billing card data, marketplace credentials, or support messages from us.
  • If required by law, subpoena, court order, regulator, payment processor, marketplace investigation, security incident, or to protect rights and safety.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to reasonable confidentiality protections.

We do not sell your email list to brokers or give affiliates private account access.

10

Retention

We keep data as long as needed for the product, support, security, legal, tax, accounting, billing, marketplace, dispute, and backup purposes.

  • Account and billing records may be retained while your account exists and for a reasonable period afterward.
  • Transaction, invoice, tax, and audit records may be kept longer where required by law or payment processor rules.
  • Uploaded files, Rescue archives, and generated assets may be subject to plan limits, expiration rules, deletion requests, or lapsed-account cleanup.
  • Connected marketplace session data is kept while the marketplace remains connected or as otherwise needed for security, troubleshooting, legal, marketplace, backup, or dispute reasons.
  • Temporary extension queues, draft context, and sync state are kept only as long as needed for the related browser-session workflow unless needed for troubleshooting or security.
  • Security logs and backups are deleted on rolling schedules unless needed for investigation or legal reasons.
  • Affiliate attribution and commission records may be retained for fraud prevention, payout, tax, and dispute purposes.
11

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including TLS in transit, managed infrastructure, access controls, encrypted storage for sensitive marketplace session data, least-privilege practices where practical, and logging for security events. The extension's scripts are packaged with the extension; the production extension is not intended to load or execute remotely hosted JavaScript. No internet service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for using strong passwords, protecting marketplace accounts, keeping Chrome and extensions updated, and telling us quickly if something looks wrong.

12

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising activities if applicable.

  • Email hello@sparedollar.io for access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions.
  • Use unsubscribe links for marketing emails.
  • Disconnect marketplace integrations in the app where available, or contact us for help.
  • Uninstall the SpareDollar Marketplace Connector, remove its Chrome site access, or clear marketplace cookies if you no longer want the extension to access browser-session marketplaces.
  • Cancel subscriptions through the billing portal or contact us.
  • Block or clear cookies in your browser, understanding that some features may break.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may also retain certain records where needed for legal, billing, security, fraud prevention, tax, dispute, or backup reasons.

13

California and other US privacy notices

If a state privacy law applies to you, this policy is intended to provide notice of the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for collection, the categories of third parties/service providers involved, and your available rights.

We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. We use affiliate attribution and service-provider tools to run the product. If a future law treats any tracking or sharing as an opt-out event, we will provide the required mechanism.

14

International users

SpareDollar is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your home country.

15

Children

SpareDollar is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child provided data to us, contact us and we will delete it where required.

16

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, laws, providers, or data practices change. We will update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will try to provide reasonable notice.
